"Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we going?"  by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

Everyone potentially plays a role in either the deteriorization or the advancement of the quality of life. If the business sector is deficient, it may impair the sense of security of many lives.  If education is inadequate, preparation for people to participate in life is at risk.  If our role as a spouse, a parent, or a friend is deficient, the effect ripples into other people's lives.  Given that it takes many contributors to right the ship's course, those of us who have a calling as a therapist or physician have an opportunity to hone our skills to transform human suffering into a higher order of life.  By maximizing our role in the flow of life, we can find our place in this human family and our direction potentially contributes to the destiny of the future.  We shall explore your place and that of ETT™ in the quest for advancing the quality of human life.

  "Networking ETT™ with Kindred Spirits"

According to feedback from participants in previous ETT™ conferences, networking with other people from around the globe has been a highlight of these gatherings for many people.  Therefore, we have built this activity into the annual conference to enhance this benefit.  Different people have developed ETT™ skills in new and powerful ways.  Learning from each other's experiences is often very exciting.  In addition, it is validating to meet kindred spirits with whom you may have much in common.  This structured activity will be fun and rewarding professionally.

Lunch Presentation - "The Status of ETT™ Research" by Rick Spletter

Research is vital to the acceptance of ETT™ among our peers and to the public. There has been substantial movement toward acquiring new research to verify the therapeutic impact of ETT™.  We shall review the research activity of the last year and share developing plans for future ETT™ research.

"Advances in Peripheral Eye Stimulation" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

The use of peripheral eye stimulation (PES) has long been a standard therapeutic procedure of ETT™.  Over the last couple of years new applications for PES have been discovered and developed further.  This presentation will review this procedure and demonstrate some of the latest more powerful ways to use PES.

"Treating Compulsive Eating, Lifestyle Issues and Diabetes" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

There are twenty-four million people in the U.S. who have diabetes.  Almost everyone in my family has had diabetes.  My brother weighed 400 lbs. and died of complications from diabetes several years ago.  Therefore, I have been on a quest to understand diabetes and how to best manage and overcome it.  While stress, exercise, and nutrition are all factors, this presentation will focus on treating the epidemic of overeating and overweight.  Obesity is not just a social deficit but a life threatening epidemic.  Ninety-five percent of people who lose weight on diets gain it back.   Resolving and maintaining appropriate weight loss is often a psychological issue that ETT™ can treat effectively.  We shall review how to do this.

"Light Years Ahead: Breakthroughs in Light Emission" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

The development of the Chromapulse II light device has taken proficiency of light therapy to a level way beyond previous uses of light.  We can now rapidly access neural circuits in the brain responsible for a specific emotional or physical symptom and relieve it within seconds.  However, it all depends upon knowing how to use the new technology proficiently.  This presentation will include both theory and several live demonstrations with volunteers.   This is the greatest advance in ETT™ within the last year.

"We Are What We See" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

The impact of the visual environment upon the brain and nervous system is far more then generally recognized.  Of the three billion nerve cells in the brain that are active at a given time, two billion neural cells are involved in visually initiated neural activity.  In addition to the four ETT™ techniques, our clients are strongly affected by their visual environments on a continual basis.  Outside of interior design specialists, this factor has not been valued enough.  We shall explore theory from the philosophical approach of "externalism" and the little known approach of ecological psychology.  We shall extend the fundamental premises upon which ETT™ is based into new venues for therapeutic potency.

"Amplified Attunement: The Neurobiology of ETT™" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

One of the basic foundations upon which ETT™ is based is attachment-based interpersonal interventions.  However, many clinicians tend to get so involved with the visual interventions of ETT™ that there is a tendency to not use or fail to integrate principles from interpersonal neurobiology.  When these principles are fully integrated into the visual techniques, attunement can become substantially amplified and repair of misattunement can  be powerful.  Ultimately rapid, long-term emotional regulation is the coveted result.

Lunch – Provided – "The Next Steps in the Future of ETT™" by Bart Paff, Alan Bleiman, Lynn Rutherford

Where do we go from here?  We shall explore your fantasies of what to do with ETT™.  Then we shall explore very specific, pragmatic plans based upon your input.  We hope to make ETT™ trainings better, the annual conference better, marketing better and take these discoveries to new levels of application and distribution.  We shall explore ways to use the internet and technology to help us enhance ETT™.  You can have a say in the future of ETT™.

"Advances in Spectral Resonance Technique (SRT)" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

During this past year huge advances in how to use the spectral chart has escalated  the impact of this technique.  The repertoire of applications for its use has expanded and the precision of its impact has increased.  This presentation will present both theory and a live demonstration to show new ways to use the spectral chart with a wide variety of people to facilitate emotional regulation.   This approach offers possibly the most advanced means to access and change dissociation.  SRT can now function as a faster deeper approach that acquires almost all the benefits of mindfulness meditation as well as psychotherapeutic gains that may not be possible by any other means.

"ETT™ and States of  Extreme Wellbeing"  by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

Experiencing states of extreme wellbeing has occurred more and more frequently with the new advances in ETT™ techniques.  We shall survey participants to compile a list of all the different types of states of wellbeing occurring with ETT™.  The focus will be upon the function and benefits from these extraordinary experiences.  We shall explore the role of states of extreme wellbeing from therapy and for the evolution toward our destiny.

"Advances in Treating Complex Trauma" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

The successful rapid treatment of complex trauma continues to be the primary contribution for ETT™.  These cases involve multiple traumatic experiences, addictions, relationship dysfunction, severe impairment of self-perception, and more.  These complicated cases involve the full repertoire of ETT™ techniques used. Case studies will illustrate the sequence of change observed over time.  These severe cases are often treatment-resistant to any other method.  New levels of achievement of relief of symptoms have occurred within the past year with these cases.

"Breakthroughs in Sexual Addiction Treatment" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

The internet pornography industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that involves some recreational occasional users but more and more people have entered into severe sexual addiction.  In 1999 another psychologist brought her client to me.  She had worked with him for over a year to no avail.  He was tormented by his compulsion to have sexual encounters with children.  By the end of one ETT™ session his sexual compulsion had been extinguished!  Subsequent to that session many years went by before I saw another sex addict.  In case after case we were able to end the addictive craving.  When the Chromapulse II came out, the process often occurred within a matter of minutes with long-term results. This is a breakthrough in the treatment of sexual addiction  We shall review how this works.

"The Transitional Self: Adjusting to Rapid Positive Change" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

ETT™ has pioneered possibility the most rapid, in-depth form of treatment yet developed.  Most people would assume that the rapid alleviation of depression, anxiety, physical pain and other symptoms would be greeted with joy and acceptance by all clients.  However, our experiences have been that rapid positive change, just like rapid negative change, requires substantial adjustment.  Once a person emerges from a chronic psychological or physical disorder, but before that person is stabilized into a new self-perception, that person often experiences a "transitional self" phase.  How this phase is managed is critical.  If it is poorly handled, relapse is a high risk.  We shall explore the nature of this transitional self and how to help resolve the issues involved.

Lunch – Provided - "Awards for Outstanding Contributions to ETT™"

"Questions and Answers About Problem Cases" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

This session is devoted to providing answers about how to resolve issues with clients who appear to not be responsive to ETT™ or other methods.  It may also involve questions about cases in which ETT™ has largely worked but certain issues may be puzzling regarding how to go about pursuing resolution.  You are invited to have written up case study issues presented that would allow us to have enough information to provide good suggestions.  The question of why wouldn't a therapist choose ETT™ as an intervention will also be explores.

"Advances in Multidimensional Eye Movement" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

Since I first taught multidimensional eye movement (MDEM), there have been some advances in the techniques that have made it far more quick and powerful.  After exploring the scientific literature in a variety of fields, I have found scientific research that supports the principles it is based on.  In addition this research as improved the nuances of the method that make it more precise.  In addition to theory and discussion we shall conduct live demonstrations with volunteers to help you learn how to make MDEM work better."Shedding New Light on Physical Pain Relief" by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D.

One of the most powerful achievements of ETT™ is the facilitation of rapid relief of chronic physical pain.  The news is that ETT™ was good for this purpose before 2009 but now it is substantially better.  New understandings about the mechanisms of physical pain has enlightened us about how we proceed to treat it. Outcomes have become faster and more likely to be long-term relief.   We shall review the basics of the use of ETT™ with a variety of different physical pain syndromes and present new nuances for advanced treatment of physical pain.
