Frequently Asked Questions

What can you expect in the first session?

The first session typically includes seeking background information about the individual and getting to know each other. People are encouraged to ask anything they wish. After acquiring basic information about the individual, some type of psychological testing may be recommended. The purpose of testing or assessment is to gain a clear idea of the nature and scope of the problem so that an effective treatment plan can be designed to achieve each person's goals. Insurance and managed care companies have made it a requirement for therapists to make at least a tentative diagnosis/assessment after the first session.

Do I need to explore my childhood to get better?

Whether childhood exploration is pursued depends upon what your objective is and what you choose after being informed. Our approach is simply to do whatever it may ethically take to accomplish the goals. In some cases, this does involve childhood exploration and in others it does not. Unfortunately, one's personal history often has a strong bearing upon one's present problems. A person can either seek ways to manage their problems or ways to change the core of the source of their problems. Most cases involve both approaches.

How long does treatment take?

This varies entirely upon numerous factors such as the nature and complexity of the problem, the readiness and awareness of the client and the willingness of the client to learn. Our goal is to reach the goals of the client in the shortest time possible.

Can my problem be solved?

Hopelessness is typically a symptom of depression which clouds a person's ability to realistically see the prospects for hope. Our therapists have been involved in several breakthrough approaches that have resolved problems much faster than the average person can imagine. These approaches are being scientifically researched in both the U.S. and Europe. Our attitude is that anything is possible, and that we are committed to doing our very best for you.

  Why ETT?

Emotional Transformation Therapy is a remarkable new approach to healing the mind, body, and soul. This pioneering type of visual brain stimulation can either be used in conjunction with psychotherapy, education or other methods. In psychotherapy, it appears to serve as a catalyst for psychological processing. As a neurostimulator, visual brain stimulation can either activate or calm subjects, depending upon how it is used.

How does it work?

Approximately 80% of our sensory intake is visual. When light enters the eyes, photoreceptors convert it into impulses that travel through routes involving the entire brain. This stimulation eventually affects our glands, our thinking abilities, our emotional states, and our nervous system. By selecting specific specific wavelengths of light, we can pinpoint its desired results.  Through using the visual system of the person, powerful new ways for accessing and rapidly change emotion is now possible.

The focus of the subject's mental content during photostimulation has been found to have a major impact upon the outcome. As subjects verbally express themselves with rhythmic colored light stimulation, awareness and depth changes may rapidly occur. The careful use of breathwork and eye movement techniques can be used in conjunction with light to yield powerful results.

What is it used for?

Dr. Vazquez has spent thousands of hours seeing hundreds of subjects using visual brain stimulation. He has now developed an extraordinary systematic way of using phototherapy. He is presently involved in numerous research projects to scientifically document his protocols. ETT has shown promise during clinical trials for use with trauma recovery, depression, chemical addictions, dreamwork, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and brain injury. Experimental use with life-threatening illnesses such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and breast cancer has shown remarkable improvement.
